How does Route 111 Express Lube differ from the larger, national quick lube chains?
Oil and oil filter quality can differ widely from franchise to franchise. At Route 111 Express Lube, we supply the top two rated oil brands (Mobil & Amsoil) and oil filters in the entire US.
With national chains, prior automotive experience is not typically required for new hires.Catastrophic engine failure can result from under or over tightened filters or oil drain plugs. Don’t risk your investment with just anybody. At Route 111 Express Lube, we have over 25 years of experience in all areas of automotive service.
National chains strive to increase average revenue through upselling other services. Their employees are more akin to salespeople than mechanics. At Route 111 Express Lube we pledge to never upsell services you don’t need. Trust is our foundation and we pledge to always look out for our clients’ best interests. During every service, we perform a thorough vehicle inspection, prioritizing safety. We'll inform you of any areas needing attention, but again, will never upsell services you don’t need.
Oil and oil filter quality can differ widely and national chains tend to use the cheapest available parts/fluids while charging a premium price. At Route 111 Express Lube we have partnered with the two leading US brands Mobil and Amsoil to provide the best parts and fluids. We are very competitively priced and don’t overcharge for our services.
National quick lube chains offer quick and convenient service, but at a cost. Most operate on a quick in and out philosophy, prioritizing speed. Couple that with specific pricing and revenue requirements per vehicle, and you can quickly find yourself overpaying for subpar services that are not actually required.
What’s the best Oil for my car?
Factors that determine the best oil for your engine are the make and model of the car, mileage on the car, and your driving habits. There are four main types of engine oil:
Full Synthetic Motor Oil: Engineered to increase the performance of today’s more precision built and hotter-running engines as well as to meet fuel efficiency standards and emissions regulations.Better for the environment; more expensive. Fewer impurities mean that the oil doesn’t break down as quickly and protects your engine longer than conventional engine oils or even synthetic blends. Using full synthetic motor oil results in better fuel efficiency, more horsepower, and improved wear protection. Recommended oil change interval can range from 5,000 - 10,000 miles depending on driving conditions, and quality of filter used. At Route 111 Express Lube, we use only the highest quality, correct oil filters for all applications.
Synthetic Blend Motor Oil: A blend of conventional and synthetic oils. Average cost is about 30% less than full synthetic. A good alternative when budget is a top priority and less average daily driving. Recommend 3,000-5,000 miles between oil changes.
Conventional Oil: Most commonly used oil; ideal for light-duty, late model cars with low to average mileage and a simple engine design. Recommend 3,000-5,000 miles between oil changes.
High Mileage Engine Oil: Most commonly used oil; ideal for light-duty, older model cars with low to average mileage and a simple engine design. Recommend 3,000 miles between oil changes.
The team at Route 111 Express Lube is more than happy to review all oil options, your driving habits and vehicle specifications to determine the best options for you and your budget.

What happens if I go too long between oil changes?
Trying to extend oil changes can lead to costly engine repairs. Over time, engine oil becomes contaminated. Once the motor oil becomes sludge, it no longer removes heat from the engine and friction increases between moving components. Ultimately, this can lead to complete engine failure requiring a brand new engine.
It is important to follow the manufacturer's recommended oil change intervals to maintain optimal engine performance and protect your vehicle from unnecessary damage. Regular oil changes ensure that your engine remains properly lubricated, cool, and protected, promoting longevity, reliable operation and optimal fuel economy.
